Rail

Hybrid Connectivity is a specialist rail telecommunications partner, supporting rail infrastructure projects with fibre connectivity products, PADS-approved solutions, bespoke enclosures, technical design support, kitting, supply and project coordination – developed over more than two decades of industry experience. From trackside cabinets to station and tunnel connectivity, we help Network Rail, principal contractors and telecoms teams deliver networks that perform and comply.

Rail telecoms networks depend on reliable fibre, copper, cabinets, closures, splice enclosures, ODFs and accessories that can perform in trackside, station, tunnel and underground environments . These are the settings where safety, resilience and compliance are critical and where a product failure is never just an inconvenience. Two decades in the sector have taught us exactly what those environments demand. We build and supply to meet it.

Fibre Connectivity, Closures and Trackside Cabinets

Our core product strengths come together for rail telecoms networks, spanning:

  • AFL Apex closures – proven, PADS-approved fibre optic splice closures for the rail environment, specifically Project REACH
  • Fibre optic splice enclosures – resilient jointing and protection across the network
  • Trackside connectivity cabinets – including the Passcomm Box-on-Post and bespoke trackside enclosures
  • Fibre joints and cable accessories – the components that complete a reliable install
  • Integrated cabinet solutions – for both copper and fibre networks

Whether you need standard PADS-approved products or something adapted to a specific programme, we supply, kit and integrate connectivity built for rail.

Bespoke Rail Telecoms Design and Integration

When a project needs something standard products can’t deliver, our in-house team designs it. We work with Network Rail, principal contractors, telecoms design teams and infrastructure partners to adapt standard products, develop bespoke ODFs, configure cabinets and design project-specific connectivity solutions.

Much of our rail work is exactly this: taking a proven trackside cabinet or closure and tailoring its design and layout to meet a client’s precise specification, backed by decades of trusted delivery to the rail environment.

Kitting, Stockholding and Supply for Rail Contractors

We’re more than a product supplier. Rail contractors work to strict programme deadlines, and the wrong part arriving late can hold up a whole site. We support delivery with inventory management, kitting, stock availability, correct product configuration and reliable supply routes – so the right products, configured correctly, arrive when your programme needs them. That reliability is a core part of how we support national roll-outs.

Rail Project Support, Training and Technical Readiness

We support roll-outs beyond the product itself. Our team can provide additional services such as technical consultation, contractor training, installation planning, product familiarisation, 3D visualisation where relevant, and coordination between manufacturer, contractor and end-client requirements. We’re helping make sure the people on site are as ready as the products they’re installing.

Project REACH – Connectivity Design and Supply

Passcomm was engaged to support Project REACH, a major rail network infrastructure project delivered by Network Rail and Neos Networks.

Supporting Major Rail Telecoms Programmes

We’re built to support large-scale national and multi-site infrastructure programmes. That means high-fibre-count deployments, trackside installation requirements, underground connectivity, future network upgrades and – crucially – consistent product standards across multiple contractors working on the same programme. When several teams need to install to the same spec, our kitting, stockholding and bespoke design keep the network consistent from site to site.
